The child is made of one hundred.

Philosophy
Our school’s philosophy revolves around the significant fact that a child’s early years are the foundation upon which future learning depends. It is an irreplaceable time when students need the nurturing love from their parents and teachers, the valuable socialization with their peers, and the opportunities to discover themselves and develop cognitively. Our school values these precious years in each child’s life and views this time as an essential stepping stone to their futures.
Stepping Stones has been at the forefront of education, and has developed quality and innovative educational programs to serve our students. Our school offers a balanced education that is inspired by various learning approaches, and most closely implements teaching that stems from the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education. |
The Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education is designed for all children from birth through six years of age. Its main aim is to promote education by developing all of the languages of our students, including their cognitive, expressive, communicative, relational, and ethical languages. From this approach, our school implements the principles that are essential to our specific population of students. Some of our Reggio Emilia inspired teaching includes lessons that are captured from children’s discussions, as well as the interests of children (i.e. shapes, colors, and weather). We incorporate the use of the pictorial arts as tools to build cognitive, linguistic, and social development. Our school also values the representation of notion and theory in compound forms through print, art, construction, music, and play, and views these representations as vital to children’s insight to their experiences and development.
